KALEIDOSCOPE

I mentioned earlier about making an optical device that could create geometric patterns and shapes in a bid to develop my technique, so I made a very simple kaleidoscope out of card, mirrored card and tape. The process was so simple, but the effects to be had are really visually exciting and would work great with projection and lighting.

Here are a few test shots, I especially like the layering effect and how the image challenges the eye to recognize the 'real' image from the reflected image.
